Emanuel - Guitarist, The Songs, The Musical Vision
A World
Fusion vibe.
The music is a blend of Middle Eastern, Classical, Jazz, Celtic, Flamenco, New Age and other Worldly vibes and elements influenced by film soundtracks. I love music, it is the greatest form of non-physical communication that can convey so much and influences are daily lives in prolific ways.
Ultimately
this is what it's all about. Years of practice and an emotional
nurturing that evolves into that magical sound. More songs will
be added here when time permits. I hope you enjoy these pieces and
that their message is conveyed to you. I always write a theme (or
rather it comes to me when I'm ready to hear it) and build around
it. Most of the other parts are usually improvised. I like playing
on the spot because it keeps the energy of the song authentic as
well as negating that perfectionistic crutch. Enjoy...

If you like any of the songs / sounds you hear feel free to send your comments via email. Thank you
Title : ...and the Angels Wept (3:27)

This
piece was written during one of my sad periods (don't worry I'm
okay now:). It can mean several things. Originally it was written
to capture the greatest sense of loss. The loss of something you
most believe in. Symbolically the title represented the Heaven's
being silenced, where the Angels wept because the presence of
God could not be felt. This one is very melancholic and ends off
with a beautiful orchestral waltz section. This outro was to show
that there is always hope and forever.

This
song is what started it all. It was one of my "noodles"
(me noodling around on the guitar and coming up with something
interesting). I knew I wanted to record some solo pieces a few
years back and I also knew that I wanted it to be a reflective
album. The song "Desire" represents that deep passion,
that sense of drive and purpose. It has a very middle-eastern
feel to it, creating an essence of mystery. Laurence Stevenson
recorded this song for me as well as lends his Violin.

: Something Beautiful (3:40)

On
a lighter note, this piece reflects that euphoria you get in the
middle of the day (even at work) for no particular reason. I love
this song because for me it symbolizes the value of being greatful
for everything we have in life. Sharing precious moments with
loved ones and remembering the happiness brought about through
memories. This one is great in the car with the thumping bass.

This
is a live performance with Ritmo Flamenco in a very intimate setting.
This song was composed by Roger Scannura. I accompany the traditional
Flamenco part with lead guitar. Laurence Stevenson is heard on
Violin and Kevin Smith on Percussion. Playing with Ritmo was truly
a great experience and definitely one of the most entertaining
live acts around the city.
