Tyson Emanuel - Biography

A cliché when it comes from most artists out there, but when you see Tyson Emanuel playing on his guitar, you really believe it’s true… His music is so genuine, so passionate & so melodic, you can’t help but feel the pain & sensuality in his music…

Tyson was born in Toronto, and comes from a family with a strong musical background. His Grandfather & Aunt on his Father’s side were pianists. His Uncle on his Mother’s side is a famed Toronto Flamenco player, Roger Scannura. Tyson toured with his Uncle’s band, Ritmo Flamenco, where he learned to appreciate the more exotic sounds of the world.

Tyson first picked up the guitar at 15. Pretty late compared to other musicians, especially the ones he admired such as Yngwie Malmsteen & Al Di Meola. But he made up for the lack of experience with vehemence.

He played for hours on end accompanied by his favorite music, day after day, never taking a break – teaching himself all he could. The music fueled him and provided him with all he needed during those teenage years… While most boys were causing a ruckus, Tyson was developing his ear, and his art…

This passion is all consuming with him. He now owns 9 guitars – 7 electric and 2 acoustic nylon strings, and he can play both proficiently… He constantly spends his evenings writing and playing, listening and appreciating… Inspired by everything and forever honing his art…

From heavy metal to classical, from experimental to ambient, from old world to new age – no style is unknown nor unappreciated with Tyson… Here is a man who can see & hear the beauty in everything, and this wide-ranging appreciation is evident when you hear his music.

This wide admiration doesn’t stop at music either. From the more mundane & obvious such as video games, computers, cars, guitars, photography and digital art to the more unusual such as Bosch, Geiger, collecting medieval weaponry and painting miniatures. His grandiose love of life does not stop there. He also appreciates a fine cigar and a good port, or a vintage wine and gourmet food… This is a man who loves so much. Who lives to enjoy all that life has to offer, and gives everything back through his music.

The highlight of his life thus far is performing at a private party for Sting… What greater thrill is there, after all, than performing for someone you admire so much, “who gives you an uplifting emotion through his music and inspires you to achieve so much as an artist?”

His journey is only beginning… Once you hear his music, you can’t help but surrender yourself to it… Seeing Tyson Emanuel playing his guitar is not something you experience everyday, and is not an experience you’ll likely forget… From the speed of his playing - watching his fingers fly up & down the neck of his guitar to all of the raw emotion - the love and the pain, will leave a mark on you, and you will feel enriched by it.
